Job DescriptionJob Description

We seek a full-time, experienced service technician to join our team in Timonium, MD. Our ideal candidate is highly motivated and has experience providing excellent customer service. They will install and repair fire, security, and access and video systems throughout the state of Maryland, with a particular focus on the Baltimore region. We prefer a candidate with experience in either fire alarm, security, camera, or access systems but are willing to train qualified applicants with a background in technical service. 

Specific duties and responsibilities will include: 

  • Inspect, evaluate, and repair various fire and security systems;

  • Use basic computer knowledge to program panels and run diagnostics; 

  • Apply knowledge of building and safety code standards; 

  • Travel to customer locations to install and service equipment;

  • Communicate effectively with other staff and customers; and, 

  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule which will include occasional weekends and holidays. 

 

You will be a good fit for this role if:  

  • You have some experience in the alarm or life safety system business; 

  • You know electronics, particularly alarm systems and/or cabling; 

  • You have experience troubleshooting and servicing electronics; 

  • You can communicate effectively; 

  • You have basic computer proficiency (e.g. able to use office applications experience learning computer programs like a customer management software); 

  • You like to learn and grow;

  • You know how to be a team player; 

  • You are able to lift equipment up to 70 pounds and can work on a ladder;

  • You are able to meet Maryland state security licensing requirements and, 

  •  You have a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record.
