The Restoration Project Manager at Big Iron Construction oversees water damage, fire damage, and reconstruction crews, including subcontractors, to ensure quality control, efficiency, and profitability of projects while actively participating in production. The RPM is responsible for the development of current subcontractors and the training of new and existing subcontractors to perform to Big Iron Construction and industry standards. As Project Manager, you play a crucial role in fostering the relationship between the clients and Big Iron Construction by providing an accurate estimate of the work to be done in a timely manner, maintaining the lines of communication, and ensuing the project is finished on time and on budget.  

What you will be doing:

  • Conducts initial assessment of water/smoke/fire damage in buildings and oversees completion of mitigation-related tasks to restore the structure.
  • Calculate an estimate of the work to be done using Xactimate.
  • Handles industrial restoration equipment.
  • Reinforces Big Iron Construction's standard of delivering premier restoration services in a timely, efficient, and profitable manner.
  • Creates a positive work environment, communicates with management, and addresses issues to maintain a positive company culture.
  • Coordinates scheduling with the office manager for efficiency, including:
    • Creating weekend / after-hours on-call schedule as needed
  • Works closely with the office manager to account for all costs associated with the job and ensure accurate invoicing.
  • Manages communication and subcontractors/temp labor for efficient job completion.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Implements standard operating procedures for the department.
  • Applies general mathematical and data entry skills.
  • Leads internal training programs for existing and incoming staff members.
  • Ensures key performance indicators (KPIs) for program work are implemented and the company consistently performs among the top companies in the region.
  • Ensures the company consistently passes environmental clearance tests.
  • Identifies safety hazards, communicates, and establishes control measures to ensure the safety of occupants and workers.
  • Ensures subcontractors' safety in the field and warehouse, OSHA compliance, conducts bi-weekly safety meetings, and ensures proper usage of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follows and oversees safe work practices and adheres to safety and risk management guidelines at all times.

What we expect you to have:

  • Demonstrated success in disaster restoration for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • 2-3 years of construction experience is required.
  • 2-3 years experience with Xactimate.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
  • Be a citizen of the USA, or legal resident alien with a valid work visa.  We cannot sponsor a work visa.  
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and be an insurable driver.

What we would like you to have:

  • Xactimate lever 1 or level 2 certification is preferred. 
  • Effective written and oral communication in English with basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs regularly, up to 100lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces, sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods of time, repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects, work with/around cleaning products/chemicals.
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law.
