Compensation: CMA - $18-20/hr based on experience / LPN - higher rates based on experience

Position Summary:

The role involves delivering professional clinical assistance to patients undergoing examinations and treatments in an outpatient clinical environment, under the guidance of the supervising provider and practice office manager or clinical supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the patient's overall condition and record vital signs and weight.
  • Support the provider during examinations, diagnostic tests, and treatments.
  • Guide, instruct, and mentor assigned staff as necessary.
  • Administer basic patient care as prescribed.
  • Ensure timely receipt and communication of test results to patients.
  • Document all interventions, patient/family responses, medications dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
  • Encourage wellness by providing educational materials and conveying the provider's advice and instructions.
  • Assess patient phone calls to determine urgency for appointments.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of medical materials and ensure equipment is well-kept.
  • Monitor and verify the accuracy of patient medical records.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding the practice, its patients, and staff.
  • Utilize various office and medical equipment, including telephones, computers, faxes, stethoscopes, EKG machines, and basic lab tools.
  • Keep the work area clean and sanitary.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained in a clean operational state.
  • Handle referrals and pre-certifications as required.
  • Schedule patient appointments as directed by the physician and communicate details accurately to patients.
  • Receive calls from hospitals/nursing homes and relay necessary information to the practitioner promptly.
  • Collaborate with patients, physicians, and other care team members as part of a team-oriented approach to patient care.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Education:

No specific education required; however, must meet the standards for obtaining the necessary license and/or certification as mandated by the issuing authority.

Minimum Experience:

At least one year of experience required in either field or a combination thereof. Experience in neurology is preferred.

Licensure Requirement:

Must be licensed as an LPN/LVN or possess CCMA or equivalent recognized MA certification. CPR certification is mandatory.
