Job Summary:

As a Senior Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs for retail buildings, warehouses, and interior spaces. You will work closely with project managers, architects, and clients to develop detailed and precise cost estimates, ensuring that all financial aspects of the projects are thoroughly evaluated and managed. Your expertise will play a crucial role in shaping our bids and winning new business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation: Develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for retail buildings, warehouses, and interior projects based on architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed bid proposals, including cost breakdowns, scopes of work, and project timelines. Ensure all bids are competitive and aligned with company goals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information, clarify project details, and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project costs and budgets throughout the construction phase. Identify potential cost savings and provide recommendations to optimize project expenditures.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed estimates and reports to management and clients. Provide insights and recommendations based on cost analysis and project requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and analyze historical cost data, past project performance, and industry benchmarks to improve estimation accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a construction estimator, with a strong background in estimating costs for retail buildings, warehouses, and interior projects.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., ProEst, PlanSwift, Bluebeam).
    • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry standards. Familiarity with relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator (CPE)) are a plus but not required.
