Position Summary:

CTI is seeking a meticulous and experienced Construction Estimator specializing in Heavy Civil Construction and Environmental Remediation. This role involves the preparation and coordination of comprehensive estimates for large-scale civil and remediation projects nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Analyze and assess requests for proposals (RFPs).
  2. Examine RFP documents, including plans and specifications, to gain a thorough understanding of the bidding scope and requirements.
  3. Conduct site visits for formal evaluations and information gathering.
  4. Perform take-offs from construction documents.
  5. Input take-offs into spreadsheets for analysis.
  6. Develop project work plans and construction timelines.
  7. Gather and review bids from subcontractors and vendors, conducting risk assessments.
  8. Source pricing for materials.
  9. Formulate estimates in instances where established standards are unavailable.
  10. Organize and generate precise and detailed estimates for multiple concurrent projects.
  11. Identify and communicate any discrepancies or omissions in quoted items or databases.
  12. Maintain a comprehensive database of products, vendors, and subcontractors.
  13. Compile cost analyses by summarizing material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead expenses incurred during installations.
  14. Present estimates by assembling and showcasing numerical and descriptive data.
  15. Prepare and submit estimate reports and bids to relevant stakeholders.
  16. Ensure the accuracy of the cost database through diligent data entry and backups.
  17. Foster relationships with key vendors, including subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers.
  18. Enhance technical knowledge by participating in educational workshops and reviewing industry publications.
  19. Attend departmental meetings as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within diverse teams, including project managers, engineers, scientists, technicians, and non-technical staff.
  • 3-5 years of experience in civil construction and environmental remediation estimating.
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as Timberline, HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Project, and/or Primavera.
  • Strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication, and presentation skills.
Additional Requirements:
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • CTI maintains a Drug-Free Workplace; candidates must pass a pre-hire drug screening.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability to navigate construction sites physically.
