Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive Accounting and Finance experience. 
  • Required experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Accounting, and Cost Accounting within a Manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to thoroughly understand a business's strategy and determine linkages to financial initiatives and drivers.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and retain associates within the finance organization.
  • Ability to effectively manage people, projects, and tasks, ensuring appropriate responsiveness and priority.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels within the organization and influence processes across multiple functions and stakeholders.
  • Highly proficient in computer skills, including advanced capabilities with Excel.
  • Experience with TINA (Truth in Negotiations Act) is a plus.

Day To Day Responsibilities:

The Vice President of Finance will report directly to the President and serve as a key business leader responsible for overseeing Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, cost control, asset management, and business decision support. The VP, Finance will collaborate closely with senior management to position the business for financial growth and efficiency, ensuring the company meets or exceeds its financial commitments. This role is also responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and implementing effective financial processes, systems, and controls to ensure compliance with companies’ policies and procedures. Additionally, the VP, Finance, will oversee the Accounting, IT, HR, and International Trade Compliance departments.

  • Collaborate with Senior Management, the Manufacturing Organization, and the Sales team to enhance the company's financial performance.
  • Oversee the monthly accounting close process and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to corporate office, ensuring that statements accurately reflect the company’s financial position in accordance with GAAP.
  • Review financial results and key financial metrics with senior management, assessing and quantifying risks, monitoring the execution of deliverables, and recommending and implementing actions necessary to improve profit and financial position.
  • Lead the development of the annual Business Plan and monthly Profit & Loss forecasts, including monthly margin forecasts.
  • Support senior management in evaluating and executing new business opportunities by preparing financial analysis for customer quoting processes and investment decisions, and work with Sales & Marketing to optimize payment terms.
  • Evaluate Capital Expenditure requests and validate return on investment.
  • Perform pricing analysis and audits to ensure compliance with the company's Pricing Policy.
  • Support functional leaders in achieving Productivity/Cost Improvement commitments, proactively promoting cost and headcount controls.
  • Effectively manage Working Capital with a focus on Inventory, Trade Receivables, and Trade Payables.
  • Evaluate financial processes and systems to drive continuous improvements in efficiency, internal controls, and reporting capabilities.
  • Maintain internal accounting control and ensure SOX compliance, supporting internal and external audits.
  • Oversee staff development, training, evaluation, coaching, and succession planning, fostering a workplace that encourages. teamwork and strengthens communication within and outside the department.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, payroll, and other applicable taxes.
  • Participate in or lead special projects as required.
