Position Description:

LCG is seeking a Desktop Systems Engineer (Mid) in a technical role responsible for preparing, deploying, and managing corporate desktop computing software and systems. This role involves performing advanced troubleshooting, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and operating systems within an interconnected environment. The Desktop Engineer (Mid) will also be responsible for scripting, managing group policies, and collaborating with various IT teams to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of desktop systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Prepare, deploy, and manage desktop computing software across the organization.

· Maintain, repair, upgrade, and configure hardware, software, and operating systems.

· Engineer and build processes to maintain PC builds.

· Utilize VBScript and batch scripting for automation and deployment tasks.

· Manage group policies and Active Directory, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

· Provide prompt and effective technical support, including troubleshooting and problem resolution for desktop PCs, mobile devices, and peripherals.

· Respond to and resolve support requests in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

· Coordinate with IT Service Center staff, Network Engineers, Server Administrators, and other technical teams to resolve issues.

· Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication, effective problem-solving, and timely follow-through.

· Administer and configure desktop systems, including software deployment, updates, and security patches.

· Maintain system documentation, including configuration settings, installation procedures, and maintenance records.

· Plan and execute preventive maintenance tasks to ensure system reliability and performance.

· Evaluate and implement new technologies and approaches to improve desktop operations and support.

· Work closely with Government personnel and other technical staff to plan, analyze, design, and implement new technologies.

· Participate in planning and analysis efforts related to hardware and software deployment.

· Provide guidance and support to junior technical staff, ensuring adherence to quality standards and procedures.

· Prepare procurement documentation for acquiring and installing spare parts and facilitating warranty maintenance calls.

Requirements:

· Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required.

· Minimum of 7 years of overall work experience, including at least 5 years of specialized experience in troubleshooting, configuring, and administering Windows systems.

· 5 years of experience in software distribution and troubleshooting.

· Strong experience with the Symantec Management Platform, Active Directory, and Windows Update processes is required.

· Certifications: A+, Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate is required.

o Desired Certifications: Azure: Configuring and Operating Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure: Endpoint Administrator.

· Advanced knowledge of Windows registry settings, file and folder security, and domain/user security.

· Experience with VBScript and batch scripting.

· Strong adherence to enterprise change management processes.

Strong technical skills in desktop system engineering, scripting, and software deployment.

· Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with users, technical teams, and Government personnel.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

· Adherence to quality standards and procedures, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
