Collections Specialist

AR Resolution
- 3rd party payor AR collection and claim submission
- Manage claims from all aging buckets including posting and appeals
- Denial management involves investigation and resolution of denied claims
- Review and analyze AR credit balances and take action to resolve balances
- Prepare 3rd payor refunds for Accounts Payable
- Proactively identify and propose resolution of issues and trends
- Escalate issues appropriately to revenue cycle leadership
- Serve as revenue cycle subject matter expert for assigned 3rd party payors
- Provide feedback on feasibility and impact of procedural changes
- Support audits by validating data and providing supporting documentation
- Follow compliance policies and communicate concerns
- Conducts special projects and special studies to facilitate revenue cycle management
- Any other duties as reasonably requested
Experience/Skills and Abilities
- 4-5 years of experience working with revenue cycle functions specifically within the healthcare industry
- Excellent computer skills with emphasize in Excel and reporting tools
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to collaborate successfully across departments
- Ethically perform all duties and recognize compliance guidelines
- Ability to work at a fast pace and adapt within a fluid business environment
- Ability to multitask, demonstrate a sense of urgency, and generate results
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
