**Position Summary:**
As a Heavy Truck Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of heavy trucks. You will work on a variety of issues, from routine maintenance to complex repairs, ensuring that all vehicles operate safely and efficiently.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- **Diagnose and Repair:** Identify mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment. Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and other major components.
- **Preventive Maintenance:** Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
- **Technical Expertise:** Utilize manuals, schematics, and repair guides to complete repairs. Keep up-to-date with industry standards and new technologies.
- **Safety Compliance:** Ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks comply with safety regulations and company policies. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- **Record Keeping:** Document all work performed, including repairs, maintenance, and parts used. Maintain accurate service records for each vehicle.
- **Customer Service:** Communicate effectively with drivers and management regarding vehicle issues and repair status. Provide recommendations for improving vehicle performance and longevity.

**Qualifications:**

- **Education:** High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or training in diesel mechanics or a related field is preferred.
- **Experience:** Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a heavy truck mechanic. Experience with various makes and models of heavy trucks is a plus.
- **Skills:** Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- **Certifications:** ASE certification in diesel engines and/or truck equipment is preferred but not required.
- **Physical Requirements:** Ability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and perform physical tasks associated with vehicle repairs.
