Pediatric Pharmacy Clinical Manager

Location: San Antonio, TX

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $54.43 - $80.20/hr (depending on experience)
  • Leadership Bonus: 10%
  • Sign-On Bonus & Relocation Assistance: Case by case

Schedule:

  • Full-time
  • No Weekends

Job Summary: As a Pediatric Pharmacy Clinical Manager, you will design, implement, and manage pharmacy clinical programs including formulary management, policy development, and education. You will oversee pharmacy operations in the absence of the Pharmacy Director and provide clinical consultation to practitioners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage drug therapy regimens, including contraindications and interactions.
  • Provide clinical consultation and suggest cost-effective therapeutic alternatives.
  • Maintain the hospital formulary and promote rational drug therapy.
  • Develop and manage clinical programs such as drug consults, nutrition support, and anticoagulant monitoring.
  • Analyze drug utilization reviews and report adverse drug reactions and medication errors.
  • Participate in committees with nursing and medical staff.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy required
    • Doctor of Pharmacy preferred
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 1 year as a Pharmacy Clinical/Operations Specialist
    • At least 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience required; management experience preferred
    • Completion of hospital PGY2/ pharmacy specialty residency or fellowship preferred
  • Certifications:
    • Specialty BCPS certification, ACLS, or other relevant certifications preferred
  • Licensure:
    • Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy
    • Active Pharmacy Consultant license required or equivalent as per State requirements

Additional Information:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Meditech, Business Objects, and purchasing vendor applications required.
  • Must have acute care pharmacy experience.
