Job Summary:

We are looking to hire a professional Pharmacy Supervisor, that will play a vital role in overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy department. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the pharmacy, supervise pharmacy staff, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. Your expertise in pharmaceuticals and leadership skills will contribute to the provision of high-quality pharmaceutical services and exceptional customer care.


Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Pharmacy Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, including prescription processing, dispensing, inventory management, and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Staff Management: Lead and manage a team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other support staff. Assign tasks, monitor performance, provide guidance, and feedback, and ensure adequate staffing levels for smooth operations.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance programs to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards. Conduct regular audits, monitor dispensing errors, and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Patient Care: Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients. Offer counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions. Resolve medication-related issues and provide recommendations when needed.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs for pharmacy staff to enhance their knowledge, skills, and adherence to best practices. Stay updated with industry developments, new medications, and emerging trends.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee medication procurement, storage, and inventory control. Monitor stock levels, expiration dates, and proper handling of pharmaceutical products. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure availability of essential medications.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to pharmacy operations, patient privacy (HIPAA), controlled substances, and record-keeping. Implement safety protocols and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Customer Service: Foster a culture of exceptional customer service by resolving customer concerns, addressing complaints, and ensuring prompt and accurate medication dispensing.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and healthcare administrators, to optimize patient outcomes, improve medication management processes, and achieve organizational goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement within the pharmacy department and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve patient care. Stay updated on technological advancements and recommend their implementation when appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (PharmD).
  • Active pharmacy license within state of practice.
  • Proven experience as a Pharmacy Supervisor or in a similar leadership role within a pharmacy setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, practices, and procedures.
