SUMMARY: As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play an important role in setting the cultural tone of our company. We accomplish this through modeling behaviors defined as our company fundamentals that help us develop and maintain a highly engaged workforce.

This position will coordinate, plan, and administer HR programs including administration, employee relations and retention, policy implementation, direct labor recruitment, and assisting with training. You will support our workforce while complying with internal policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local labor laws.

The HR Generalist position will have an office and be out of our Hudson, MA site; In addition will help our Bedford, MA site as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with other members of the local HR Team to:
  • Support the implementation and administration of HR programs at assigned location(s).
  • Working closely with the HR Manager to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Assist with company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, 401k, etc.
  • Working collaboratively with local HR team to assist with all leave of absence and return to work programs per federal, state, and local rules/guidelines.
  • Administer all leave of absence and workers’ compensation programs for local HR teams.
  • Provide feedback and work closely with the HR Manager on department needs and assist with improving processes and/or programs.
  • Lead and coordinate recognition activities, quarterly contests, and populate weekly slides around our ‘Fundamental of the week’ for local HR teams.
  • Participate in project related work as assigned by the Senior Director, HR.
  • Site-specific responsibilities will include:
  • Manage DL (“Direct Labor”) recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open DL positions on the production floor; collaborates with departmental supervisors/managers to understand skills and competencies required for DL openings.
  • Record and submit all background screenings, drug tests, and pulmonary tests.
  • Manage and maintain all current partnerships with temp agencies to lead best strategies and be main point of contact for current and future staffing needs.
  • Track weekly hours for all temp employees, sending all hours worked to agencies for weekly payroll.
  • Maintain and send out weekly roster/headcount for all temps and employees for each department. Work with Production Manager and GM to assist in getting all current, updated information for this.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Manager.
  • Attends and participates in employee relations meetings, as needed.
  • Monitor employee morale and company culture.
  • Work collaboratively with the EH&S team to continually improve the safety of our work environment. This includes leading the local Safety Committee.
  • Work collaboratively with the HR Manager, HR Admin, and GM to build and lead an Activities Committee, including local events to create budget-approved, employee engagement opportunities that enhance the work experience.
  • Manage and maintain local HR filing system to meet all privacy rules and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Serve as back-up to fellow HR team members, including front office administration tasks.
  • Assist Technical Training Engineer with reviewing, tracking, and documenting compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, and additional training.
  • Data entry - Enter new hires and process terminations in payroll systems.
  • Manage, maintain uniform program, including vendor partnerships. Submitting and keeping track of requests for employee uniforms (CINTAS uniforms/jackets and smocks)

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree in human resources or related field with a minimum of two years of HR experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
  • Bilingual candidate Required (English/Spanish)
  • SHRM-CP a plus.
  • Knowledgeable of local, state (Massachusetts) and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience with HRIS software, ADP system experience preferred.
  • Highly organized with a record of prioritizing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution skills, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Understanding of personnel and compliance records management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires mental and visual attention to detail as well as hand coordination. Occasionally lifting or moving average weight material. The flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination or part-time normal and part-time concentrated attention and coordination. Must be able to navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Employee must be able to read and interpret documents written in English and Spanish. Employees must be able to have good communication with fellow employees, supervisors, and management.
