Job Summary
HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital is seeking a skilled Medical Technologist to join our team. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality laboratory testing and results to support patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing, including analyzing proficiency testing samples and completing required records/documentation.
- Assume responsibility of the department as needed, including in the absence of the supervisor.
- Complete stat procedures within established turnaround time targets.
- Demonstrate the ability to use good judgment and independent thinking in the correlation and interpretation of patient results.
- Review pending logs and result logs, resolving any outstanding workload or communicating with staff relief.
- Perform quality control procedures per protocol and handle all problem and/or critical laboratory specimens/test results.
Requirements
- A 2 Year/Associate Degree is required.
- A 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist is preferred.
- A State of Florida Technologist License is required or the ability to obtain a license during the interview process.
- Technologist License in one or more clinical specialty areas, including Generalist, Blood bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology.
