Job Responsibilities and QualificationsWe are looking for a hospital-based 3rd shift PRN Medical Laboratory Technologist to deliver expertise and drive results. Our team is exceptional, and we work diligently to support one another, seeking a remarkable addition who shares our commitment to the patient experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting precise and timely laboratory tests by analyzing proficiency testing samples according to established protocols and completing them within the designated timeframe.
- Taking charge of the department as necessary in the absence of the supervisor.
- Completing all required documentation related to patient results.
- Executing stat procedures within established turnaround time targets.
- Demonstrating sound judgment and independent thinking in correlating and interpreting patient results (including performing delta checks, etc.).
- Reviewing pending logs and result logs; addressing any outstanding workload or communicating with staff relief.
- Performing quality control procedures in accordance with protocols and managing all problem and/or critical laboratory specimens/test results.
Qualifications:
- A 2 Year/Associate Degree is required.
- A 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist is preferred.
- A State of Florida Technologist License is required OR the ability to obtain a license during the interview process.
- Technologist License in one or more clinical specialty areas is preferred (Generalist highly preferred).
- Areas of specialty may include: Blood bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology.
