Position Title: Information Security Analyst

Organizational Relationships: Reports to Information Security Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

General Function: Develop and manage the overall security program for the credit union. Work with various departments to ensure compliance with credit union security policies as well as state and federal examinations. Oversee vulnerability remediation and patching of software, devices, and appliances. Respond to and resolve security incidents. Keep up to date and be proactive with current threats to the credit union. Update policies and procedures to ensure the security and compliance of credit union employees, computer systems, and data. Maintain physical security components such as cameras, badges, sensors, and access control systems. Provide timely updates to the ISM on current projects.

Position Functions:

  • Recommend and implement changes to enhance systems security and prevent unauthorized access and other security violations.
  • Provide direction, develop standards, and initiate processes related to Information Security.
  • Update, develop, and review security policies and procedures.
  • Maintain, optimize, and monitor internal security systems (SIEM, CASB, DLP, IDS/IPS, and endpoint) to ensure we are looking at relevant alert information.
  • Report, investigate, and resolve security incidents.
  • Manage and implement SaaS and third-party applications with secure configuration and authentication technologies.
  • Develop and maintain data security standards and classifications as well as manage data access technologies and procedures.
  • Administer authentication and access controls, including oversight of provisioning, changes and de-provisioning of user and system accounts, security/access roles and access permissions to information assets.
  • Research security trends, new methods, and techniques used in unauthorized access of data to preemptively eliminate the possibility of system breach.
  • Perform risk and compliance assessments; and engage in and coordinate third-party risk and compliance assessments.
  • Maintain an effective vulnerability management program and recommend/implement secure configurations, patches, and remediations.
  • Review, assess, and mitigate penetration tests and vulnerability assessments on information systems and infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with security vendors and aid in the configuration and maintenance of physical security systems such as cameras, badge systems, access control systems, and alarm systems.
  • Third party technology service provider oversight and security compliance.
  • Develop and administer information security training for IT personnel and CU staff.
  • Oversight and reporting of all system software patching, ensuring that all workstations, servers, and appliances are up to date and patched regularly.
  • Act as main point of contact for computer security issues and concerns.
  • Proactively provide feedback to SVP of IT, ISM or CIO/CISO for changes to physical or computer security.
  • Strict adherence to the CIA triad.

Position Requirements:

  • Excellent communication, customer service and documentation skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with non-technical staff by phone and email.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple issues in a fast-paced work environment and handle on call issues and to perform after hour maintenance.
  • Ability to work with and manage vendor services and relationships.
  • Completes mandatory annual BSA training that includes Red Flag, Identity Theft, OFAC, CTR and SAR reporting and thresholds, as well as the safe keeping of member information, and passes any applicable tests.
  • Follows all Whitefish Credit Union, Montana and Federal information privacy guidelines.
  • Adheres to all Whitefish Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Participation in occasional on-call rotations.
  • Protects Member and Whitefish Credit Union confidential information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma
  • Associate degree in Computer Science or related field (or 4+ years relevant work experience).
  • Has worked in Information Security for 2+ years OR has worked as an Information Technology (IT) team member for 4+ years.
  • A current security certification in CISSP, Security+, OSCP or equivalent required.
  • Experience in Windows and Active Directory Security and system hardening.
  • Knowledge of best practices for securing data centers, networks, and server components.
  • Familiarity with securing Windows and Linux servers and clients.
  • Familiarity with firewall rule configurations
