Overview: (Mobile, AL Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Legal Assistant
Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys in preparing, organizing, and maintaining legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery materials.
E-file documents with the appropriate courts and agencies, ensuring compliance with filing deadlines and procedures.
Conduct legal research using online databases and other resources as needed.
Transcribe dictations, interviews, meetings, and other audio recordings accurately and promptly.
Prepare and draft correspondence, memos, and other legal documents.
Assist in managing case files, ensuring all documents are organized and accessible.
Maintain and update calendars, scheduling appointments, hearings, and other legal events.
Communicate professionally and promptly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
Provide administrative support, such as answering phone calls, managing emails, and handling incoming and outgoing mail.
Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently, maintaining electronic and physical databases.
Assist in trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, organizing trial binders, and coordinating witnesses as required.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role, preferably in insurance litigation.
Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and filing requirements.
Proficient in e-filing systems and familiar with various court filing platforms.
Excellent transcription skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficient in data entry, with the ability to handle large volumes of information.
Proficient in using legal research tools and databases.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
Education and Certifications:
Associate's degree or relevant certification in paralegal studies or a related field is preferred.
Familiarity with legal assistant training programs or certifications is a plus.
