Job DescriptionJob Description

Our company is seeking a qualified mid-level control systems engineer responsible for PLC/HMI programming, system documentation, factory acceptance testing, and field start-up and commissioning activities.

 

 

 

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Ø  Participates in the development of logic diagrams, cause & effect matrices, and functional narratives.

Ø  Participates in the development and/or review of control panel design packages, field wiring diagrams, conduit & cable schedules, and associated E&I package deliverables.

Ø  Attends field verification and user requirements gathering walkdowns.

Ø  Develops PLC/HMI programming.

Ø  Executes factory acceptance testing.

Ø  Executes field start-up and commissioning, including support of troubleshooting activities.

Ø  Contributes to and participates in client training.

Ø  Provides best possible response after hours support for internal/external clients as required.

Ø  Works with applicable Senior Engineering Lead(s) and Project Manager(s) to ensure quality of deliverable, budget adherence, etc. Keeps Project Manager(s) informed of progress, issues, need for change order, etc.

Ø  Travel +/- 25% with willingness to travel via air.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

v  B.S. Engineering plus 5 years’ applicable work experience, or combination of education and relevant work experience

v  Strong proficiency programming PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred) and HMIs (GE iFIX, Rockwell FactoryTalk View, AVEVA/Wonderware System Platform preferred)

v  Strong proficiency with Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and OPC communications protocols

v  Solid grasp of P&ID’s, control panel wiring drawings, and field wiring diagrams

v  Desirable, but not required:

§  Knowledgeable of Electrical Protection Relays

§  Knowledgeable of Historian systems

§  Knowledge of external notification systems (text, email, mobile app, etc.)

§  Familiarity with DeviceNet and/or Profibus communications protocols
