Health and Safety Coordinator

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Health and Safety Coordinator is tasked with overseeing the company's health and safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards. This role includes managing OSHA reporting, incident documentation, workers' compensation claims, and maintaining safety training databases. Additionally, the Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for assisting in vehicle safety compliance, coordinating health and safety meetings, and managing safety-related documentation and procedures.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Our ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:Prepare and maintain OSHA 300 forms.
Complete Incident Reporting Forms and manage post-accident alcohol and drug tests.
Calculate and report Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) using relevant data and ensure timely submission.
Track and manage workers' compensation claims and ensure accurate reporting.
Update and manage the Health and Safety Training Database, tracking certifications and expirations.
Schedule and manage various safety trainings and ensure certificates are recorded.
Enroll employees in required training programs and ensure compliance with certification standards.
Schedule drug tests and background checks, coordinating with DISA for compliance.
Oversee DOT card renewals for employees who drive regulated vehicles.
Distribute Toolbox Talks, manage Acknowledgement Forms, and lead the Injury Prevention Program.
Plan and lead quarterly Health and Safety Meetings
Upload compliance documents, assist with site-specific training, and maintain the ISN Site Hours Tracker.
Collaborate with Haztek to ensure our company’s compliance in databases such as ISN and Avetta by providing and uploading relevant and required information.
Ensure technicians receive necessary badges and complete required forms for job sites.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate effective health and safety execution.
Attend contractor safety meetings when required.
Promote a positive team environment and encourage open communication among team members.
Other duties as assigned.
RELEVANT JOB COMPETENCIES
The ideal candidate should possess the following attributes:
Deep understanding of OSHA regulations, workers' compensation procedures, and safety standards.
High level of accuracy in handling safety documentation and compliance reporting.
Demonstrates a high level of personal responsibility to manage time and tasks efficiently.
Takes initiative and works well autonomously.
Consistently dependable in fulfilling job responsibilities and meeting deadlines.
Effective communication skills for interacting with employees, management, and external agencies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for managing safety incidents and compliance issues.
Experience with safety management software, databases, and reporting tools.
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in health and safety coordination or a similar role.
OSHA 30-hour certification preferred; additional certifications in safety management or training are a plus.
Proficiency in safety management software, databases, and compliance tracking; strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Valid Driver’s License
