HOURS: 25-30 hours per week

FLSA STATUS: Hourly (Non-Exempt)

WORK LOCATION: A blend of remote and in-person work in NYC. Weekends might be required.

RATE: $22 to $26 per hour

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Health Research & Outreach Coordinator to join our Corporate Strategy Department. This role will support our research and community health initiatives by coordinating efforts to connect with the community and advance our research goals.

Healthix empowers researchers with deidentified and identifiable data (with consent) from our real-time clinical data repository, encompassing over 17 million unique lives and more than 10 years of data. Our community outreach efforts focus on promoting My Health Record NY, a portal that provides patients in New York with secure access to their electronic medical records. We have partnered with thousands of healthcare providers to centralize patient health information, making it easily accessible.

In this role, you will coordinate and participate in community health fairs and related events across Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and NYC, helping residents understand the benefits of My Health Record NY and assisting them in creating accounts and accessing their health information online. The ideal candidate is passionate about healthcare accessibility, tech-savvy, results-driven, and enjoys engaging with the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Community Outreach:

  • Coordinate with health fair organizers and community events in Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and NYC to promote My Health Record NY and assist residents with account creation and online access to their health information.
  • Engage with New York residents aged 18 and older, sharing information about the patient portal and its benefits.
  • Educate community members on the functionalities of the My Health Record NY portal, assisting with the registration process, providing access to QR codes, and guiding them through the portal.
  • Distribute outreach materials such as flyers, brochures, and other informational resources.
  • Update and manage related social media content to enhance outreach efforts.
  • Collect contact information from interested residents to facilitate ongoing outreach and engagement.
  • Provide guidance to Outreach Associates during events, coordinating efforts to maximize impact.
  • Monitor and evaluate outreach efforts, making recommendations for improvement, and maintaining records of activities to provide regular updates on engagement outcomes.

Health Research:

  • Schedule quarterly meetings with Healthix NYC research participants.
  • Coordinate research opportunities from the sales to delivery process, including logging in Salesforce, securing Research Committee approval, drafting agreements, and creating standard work processes.
  • Organize and coordinate Health Research Committee meetings.
  • Manage communications for quarterly updates, including newsletters, social media, and website content.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in community outreach, health promotion, or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and engage with community members.
  • Represent Healthix as an ambassador of our values and reputation as New York State’s leading HIE.
  • Comfort with using digital tools and assisting others with online registrations and QR codes.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and events simultaneously.
  • A genuine passion for healthcare, with an interest in improving healthcare access and empowering individuals with their health information.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations within New York State for events and outreach activities.
