We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at NYU Langone Health. The successful candidate will work closely with Biostatistics faculty and clinical investigators on statistical methods and applications.
Key Responsibilities- Initiate, interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate research assignments critical to the department's mission.
- Perform study design, protocol development, statistical analysis, data interpretation, and manuscript preparation.
- Work with research groups in clinical and basic science departments and centers.
- Work closely with Biostatistics faculty and clinical investigators on statistical methods and applications in a wide range of areas.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the advances in specialized fields through attendance of scientific conferences.
- Coordinate the activity and experimental design between various labs, scientific staff, and collaborators.
- Identify and resolve technical problems.
- May make significant contributions to scientific papers.
- Serve as a resource/author/co-author for reports and presentations.
- May determine and establish research policies, procedures, and practices.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of research projects.
- Develop research techniques and methodologies.
- Develop protocols for the collection and quality of research data.
- Develop new ideas that promote current research.
- Exercise a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding extensive scientific research programs and activities of outstanding novelty and/or importance.
- Make decisions and recommendations that have a major impact on extensive scientific research activities.
- Explore subject area and define scope and selection of problems for investigation through conceptually related studies or series of projects of lesser scope.
- Formulate and conduct research on problems of considerable scope and complexity.
- A Master's degree in a related discipline.
- 0-1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Substantial experience from having completed Post Doc training.
- Established a record of publications.
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
