Our growing MSP  is currently looking to hire a Support Engineer / Technical Support Engineer.

 

  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

    • Respond to client inquiries and issues via phone, email, or ticketing system.
    • Diagnose and resolving technical problems related to hardware, software, networking, and other IT systems.
    • Troubleshoot issues to determine root cause and implementing effective solutions.

  • Customer Service:

    • Provide excellent customer service and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
    • Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
    • Manage client expectations regarding issue resolution timelines and updates.

  • Documentation and Knowledge Management:

    • Document support processes, resolutions, and troubleshooting steps.
    • Contribute to the knowledge base by creating articles and guides for commonly faced issues.
    • Share knowledge within the team to improve overall support efficiency.

  • System Administration and Maintenance:

    • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as software updates, patches, and system backups.
    • Monitor system performance and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
    • Assist with system configuration changes and deployments.
    • Perform back end development of implementing secure systems and integration methods

  • Collaboration and Escalation:

    • Collaborate with other teams to resolve complex issues.
    • Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams or vendors for further investigation.

  • Training and Support Improvement:

    • Conduct training sessions or creating materials to educate users about new features or changes.
    • Identify opportunities for improving support processes and procedures.

  • Quality Assurance:

    • Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure service levels and customer satisfaction goals are met.
    • Conduct follow-up calls or surveys to gather feedback on support services.

  • Proven Technical Skills:

    • Operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS)
    • Networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
    • Database management systems (SQL, MySQL, Oracle)
    • Email Migrations (Google to Microsoft or imap to Microsoft
    • Scripting-Ruby, Powershell, etc
    • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
    • Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
    • Security best practices and tools (e.g., encryption of sensitive data, access control)
    • MSP tools, such as RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) platforms, ticketing systems, and monitoring tools

  • Soft Skills That Must Be Present:

    • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and skills.
