Field Technical Support Specialist (Industrial Engines)

Our dedicated Clarke Powered Solutions Team is in search of a Field Technical Support Specialist with a solid mechanical foundation in diesel engines to aid in the Application and Installation Process of tailored Perkins engine build packages.

Collaborate with Engine sales teams, Equipment manufacturers, and design teams on engine selection and fitment. Conduct installation assessments and evaluations to comply with manufacturer standards. We proudly became the appointed Perkins Distributor in 2018. Together with Perkins, we provide top-tier products, cost-effective solutions, and unparalleled service for all our clients. Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct audits and provide status updates throughout the design audit process for custom Perkins Engine packages.
  • Review engine selection processes and assist customers in making informed choices.
  • Support engineering teams with modifications of components for custom engine builds.
  • Provide technical assistance to dealer technicians.
  • Maintain documentation throughout the audit process and ensure data collection is progressing smoothly.
  • Address audit-related issues as they arise, consulting with experts or managers as necessary.
  • Handle special service-related concerns as they emerge, which may involve travel to client locations.
  • Travel over 50% of the time for technical visits and troubleshooting.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:
  • Ability to achieve certification in the manufacturer's advanced technical training.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents and schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication skills for conveying maintenance and repair procedures on engines, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on customer service and professionalism.
  • Capable of writing reports and communicating technical information clearly.
  • Self-motivated individual who works well independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Strong practical experience in training and instruction.
  • 1-2 years of experience with data acquisition software (DEX2) for recording parameters such as temperature and pressure.
  • Familiarity with Perkins software SPI2, EIP, and EST.

Physical and Safety Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the associate will be required to frequently move, stand, walk, and sit. Implement and enforce health and safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prescribed instructions.
