The Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. This role includes installing hardware and software, as well as participating in research and development to continuously align IT infrastructure with the organization's evolving business needs. The Systems Administrator also addresses and resolves issues related to computer and server systems to minimize work disruptions.
Key Responsibilities & Position Requirements:
- Provide general hardware support for PCs, servers, printers, phones, and UPS systems.
- Serve as the primary contact for IT technical issues.
- Deploy, configure, and upgrade PC desktops and laptops with Microsoft and engineering application software, utilizing automated methods when possible.
- Procure IT equipment and supplies, including computers, printers, peripherals, toner, phones, and cell phones.
- Manage, order, and track all IT licensing for compliance with software such as Microsoft, Adobe, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
- Maintain tracking and renewals of equipment contracts.
- Conduct user training on applications like Office, Outlook, and Remote VPN.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to PCs, printers, cell phones, phone systems, Windows servers, standard application software, and network connectivity.
- Lead various IT-related projects across multiple business departments.
- Ensure data integrity by evaluating, proposing, implementing, and managing software and hardware solutions.
- Design server file sharing and application security across the enterprise.
- Perform system software upgrades on PCs and servers.
- Manage user provisioning, including Windows accounts, Active Directory, Security Groups, and Folder Access.
- Administer email services, including user accounts, distribution groups, and security groups.
- Manage cell phones and web/audio conferencing systems.
- Possess the ability to back up and restore servers.
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning.
