This role is crucial for the successful construction of loading docks, requiring precision and expertise in various concrete handling techniques.

About the Role: As a Concrete Specialist, you will be responsible for all phases of concrete construction associated with the building of loading dock pits. Your skills will directly contribute to the foundation and functionality of our projects, ensuring durability and precision in every construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Layout: Plan and mark the area for concrete placement, ensuring all dimensions and boundaries are accurately set according to blueprints.

  • Concrete Cutting: Execute precise cuts in existing concrete to accommodate new constructions or alterations.

  • Form Setting: Build and position forms for pouring concrete, ensuring they are properly secured and aligned.

  • Rebar Placement: Install rebar or mesh to reinforce the concrete, arranging it according to structural requirements.

  • Concrete Placement: Manage the pouring of concrete, ensuring it is evenly distributed and levels are correct.

  • Concrete Finishing: Perform finishing techniques such as smoothing, leveling, and adding textures to the surface of hardened concrete to meet specifications.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers and other team members to meet construction timelines and standards.

  • Mentoring: Assist with training and supporting new team members in various construction techniques.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in concrete construction, with a strong understanding of all phases from layout to finishing.

  • Ability and willingness to learn and apply new skills as needed.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and diagrams.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to concrete construction.

  • Physical stamina and strength to perform demanding work tasks under various conditions.

  • Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within a construction team.

  • Reliable transportation to travel to and from job sites as required. Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to quality and safety at all times.

  • Personal protective equipment is required to be worn at all times eg: safety vest, work boots, hard hat, safety glasses etc

  • Ability and willingness to work in a team environment and contribute to training and development of colleagues.

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
