School Bus Aide

Virgo Medical Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate School Bus Aide to join our team. As a key member of our transportation team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Client Escort and Support: Escort clients to and from the vehicle, from the residence and facility as required by company procedure policy.
- Assist with Client Needs: Assist clients with mobility issues, such as loading and securing wheelchairs, and ensuring they are properly seated and secured.
- Monitor Client Condition: Observe clients during transport and report any unusual developments to the driver and facility staff.
- Preserve Calm Environments: Take measures to preserve and restore calm on the vehicle in cases where clients may be acting out.
- Ensure Client Safety: Never leave clients unattended and ensure that at least one staff member is present in the vehicle as long as there are clients on board.
- Emergency Response: Notify dispatch immediately in case of an emergency and file an incident report when necessary.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Check the vehicle before leaving the base to ensure proper tie-downs and harnesses are on board and keep the vehicle clean inside and outside.
- Professional Image: Maintain a professional image and attitude at all times.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
