Job DescriptionJob Description

The Cemetery Office Manager provides customer service as well as routine clerical and data entry to support to the cemetery, funeral home and crematory. The objective is to ensure the business runs smoothly and the expectations of our client families are exceeded so each family has a friendly, inviting and positive experience. A key part of the position involves working with vendors in the monument industry to establish relationships that benefit the customer experience in selling monuments and markers. Developing understanding of different granite types, engraving, etching, sizing and material quality to customize every detail to provide outstanding service to families selecting monuments.

 

Previous monument or cemetery experience is preferred; however, we will train the right person who is willing to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist cemetery clients/guests in person or via telephone or email
  • Schedule, confirm and process all required documentation for burials or other cemetery related activities
  • Maintain all cemetery records
  • Maintain files and related systems for the business including cremation paperwork
  • Promptly respond and handle all customer inquiries with compassion, respect and understanding
  • Assist customers in selecting monuments and memorial products

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written with attention to detail
  • Proven experience in office management or a similar administrative role
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and handle administrative tasks efficiently
