WilliamsRDM is looking for a Supply Chain Manager to be responsible for the day-to-day tactical production control planning, scheduling, flow of materials, and monitoring to achieve goals and objectives for delivery dates. Oversees scheduling and the development of methods to allocate and control resources and materials effectively. Manages and leads the Purchasing, Inventory and Shipping/Receiving Departments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Provide estimated lead times to Bid & Proposal and ensures adequate time for NRE and first builds

· Review new contracts to evaluate delivery schedule requirements. Communicate any concerns to contracts.

· Create and schedule production jobs for customer orders

· Regularly run the MRP tool, validate results, and create & schedule lower level jobs as needed.

· Regularly run the Purchase Planner tool, validate results, and issue shortages to purchasing

· Manage Purchasing to ensure timely and economical procurement of necessary materials/supplies

· Run reports that show materials that will be arriving after they are needed, and either expedite them or adjust production scheduled as necessary. If it will cause a contract date to be missed, communicate that to contracts.

· Identify needs for new suppliers, find and qualify new suppliers

· Ensure the Approved Provider List is maintained

· Ensure we maintain current NDAs with all suppliers and that we maintain documentation of certifications held by suppliers

· Investigate and follow-up on potential schedule delays or bottlenecks. Recommend and implement actions to correct or prevent potential delays.

· Ensure status remarks in ERP system about shortages and other issues are entered and updated as needed to remain current

· Provide leadership and direction to the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor and the Inventory Supervisor.

· Manage, lead and organize Purchasing, Inventory and Shipping and Receiving departments. Implement procedures and continuous improvement plans across these functional areas

· Consistently follow all quality and company procedures and regulations

· Consistently communicate with other stakeholders

· Continuously pursue process or continuous improvement opportunities

· Perform root cause analysis as determined by CARs

· Communicate with Operations and Quality on requirements, schedule, status, and to ensure resource availability and on-time delivery

· Optimize inventory levels – improve inventory turnover while ensuring no visible delays to customers

· Own and ensure compliance with AS9100 processes applicable to production planning, purchasing, shipping/receiving, and inventory

· Ensure that released engineering changes are acted upon as needed with respect to production planning and purchasing

· Maintain a high level of proficiency in utilizing the ERP system to effectively manage and optimize supply chain operations.

Education and Training:

· Degree in operations-related field, or substitute relevant experience

· ASCM (formerly known as APICS) (or related) certification a plus

Skills & Experience:

· At least seven years of total experience with a minimum of three years of directly related experience in production planning/scheduling

· Manufacturing experience in machining and electro/mechanical assembly; preferably in lean manufacturing environment

· Must have had significant exposure to purchasing and logistics - managing materials/inventory throughout the supply chain

· Experience using ERP and MRP software, ideally ECi M1 ERP system

· Project management or supervisory/leadership experience

Preferred Experience:

· Experience in defense industry or with US government/military contract manufacturing

· General knowledge of complying with AS9100 and/or ISO standards and manufacturing quality systems

Ability To:

· Communicate frequently, clearly, and effectively at all levels, in writing and verbally

· Be accountable for meeting deadlines, and hold co-workers accountable for same

· Establish and maintain cooperative and effective interpersonal working relationships with others, including the ability to effectively lead the resolution of issues or conflicts

· Analyze data and translate it into meaningful information, recommendations, and action

· Use a computer including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.) and ERP/MRP

· Handle multiple projects/tasks effectively in a fast-paced, often high-pressure environment

· Read and understand engineering drawings, bills of materials and product/process specifications

· Organize work for self and others.

o Develop system or process to ensure timely fulfillment of production orders

o Maintain organized tracking/status information
