Compensation:

  • Minimum: $47.08 per hour / $97,926.40 annually
  • Mid-Range: $58.85 per hour / $122,408 annually
  • Maximum: $70.62 per hour / $146,889.60 annually

Schedule:

  • Full-time
  • No weekends

Job Summary: The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for leading the perioperative team to ensure safe patient care and effective management of operations. This role holds 24/7 responsibility for surgical departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and resolve issues affecting the service, implementing solutions with follow-through.
  • Participate in service, departmental, and hospital-wide committees, providing ongoing communication.
  • Enhance the customer experience in Surgical Services.
  • Provide feedback and development plans to subordinates, documenting their job performance.
  • Adhere to all Human Resource policies.
  • Communicate departmental, organizational, and industry information to staff.
  • Facilitate evidence-based employee engagement practices.
  • Build strong relationships and networks to meet organizational and departmental goals.
  • Participate in employee and patient rounding, mentoring potential future leaders.
  • Enforce standards of care for surgical services and develop processes to ensure compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate an ongoing surgical services program aligned with the Hospital mission.

Job Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
    • Master’s degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years in a leadership role preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Licensure:
    • Current registered professional nurse license in the state of practice
  • Certifications:
    • Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) preferred
    • Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) preferred

Additional Information:

  • Facility Details:

    • 222 beds with a planned expansion of 60 beds within 18-20 months
    • 10 Operating Rooms (ORs)
    • 4 Robots: DaVinci XI, Mako, Rosa & another with a beam
    • High volume in Ortho, Urology, Urogynecology, and Gynecology
    • Reports to the Director: Manager, 1 CNC OR, and 1 CNC for PACU, Pre-Op & SPD Manager
    • Director oversees: OR, Pre-op, PACU, PAT, SPD, and Endoscopy
    • 92 FTEs total and 4 leaders
    • Hospital ranks in the upper 25% of the division
