As a Surgical Assistant with SpecialtyCare, you will serve as a primary support to the surgeon(s) during various surgical interventions and execute intricate surgical procedures as required and instructed by the physician. This position involves collaboration across multiple surgical disciplines.
We are seeking surgical assistants with experience in robotic surgery. Key Responsibilities
- Functions as the First or Second Assistant to the surgeon during surgical operations, which includes holding retractors, ligating vessels and tissues, suturing incisions and lacerations, and performing cauterization and tissue manipulation as necessary and as directed for a wide range of surgical cases, including orthopedic, general surgery, vascular, and OB/GYN.
- Completes additional specific tasks assigned by the supervising physician in alignment with the incumbent's expertise and experience developed under the supervising physician.
- Records all procedures and/or services provided to patients on documentation sheets and processes these sheets according to established protocols to ensure accurate billing to patient accounts.
- Participates in on-call duties with the rest of the team as directed by the team leader.
- Conducts all activities in compliance with established policies and protocols, ensuring all orders are supervised and countersigned by the physician.
- Must possess certification/licensure as a CSA, LSA, RNFA, PA-C, or NP.
- Prior surgical experience as a First Assistant is required.
- Ability to cultivate and sustain professional relationships and contribute to business growth.
- Strong interpersonal skills with physicians and a collaborative team approach are essential.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to work at various locations as required.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills with hospital staff and physicians are necessary.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and to be on-call as scheduled, with the ability to respond to calls or pages within a 30-minute timeframe.
