About the Position:

The Vice President of OEM Sales is a key leadership position within Dometic Americas and responsible to lead our sales efforts within the Recreational Vehicle (RV) and Consumer Passenger Vehicle (CPV) Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) market segment. This is a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, building strong customer relationships, and implementing effective sales strategies to secure market leadership in the RV industry. This position reports to the President, Land Vehicles Americas. This role is in Elkhart, IN.

Requirements:

General responsibilities:


Sales Leadership:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the OEM sales team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on exceeding targets and objectives.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales plans and forecasts, setting clear objectives and monitoring progress toward achieving sales goals.
  • Share techniques and sales methodologies used to present a product to customers in a collaborative and persuasive manner and to meet the customer’s expectations and needs.
  • Identify new growth opportunities and market trends within the RV and CPV OEM segment, translating insights into actionable sales strategies.
  • Manage business processes in a responsible and ethical manner considering the economic responsibility towards shareholders as equally important as the responsibility towards environmental and social stakeholders.


Customer Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key OEM customers, understanding their unique needs and tailoring solutions to match.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction, addressing any concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for major OEM partners, negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms to secure mutually beneficial agreements.


Market Analysis and Strategy:

  • Develop channel strategy to ensure sales team is focused on targeted opportunities for growth and Dometic is best positioned to capture profitable sales with target customers, target products, and strategic programs.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape shifts, and potential gaps in the OEM market.
  • Develop and refine sales strategies based on market insights, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market dynamics, adapting strategies to maintain a competitive edge.


Sales Performance and Reporting:

  • Track and analyze key sales metrics, pipeline, and forecasts, presenting regular reports to senior leadership.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions, optimize resource allocation, and drive continuous improvement in the sales process.


Team Development:

  • Provide coaching, feedback, and training to enhance team members' sales effectiveness, product knowledge, and customer engagement.
  • Recruit, onboard, and mentor a high-performing OEM sales team, fostering professional growth and skill development.


Collaboration and Communications:

  • Collaborate closely with other departments, including sub-segment GMs, Customer Service, Marketing, Product Management, Product Development, and Operations / Supply Chain, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, sharing market insights, customer feedback, and sales progress.
  • Seek to understand various internal factors that influence the Americas segment such as our culture, strategic foundation, products, prices, and available resources.


Requirements and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Proven track record of at least 10 years in progressively responsible sales leadership roles, with a strong emphasis on B2B sales to OEMs. RV, Automotive or related sectors preferred.

  • Ability to be on-site in a hands-on leadership capacity with our sales teams in Elkhart, IN and Troy, MI.
