Position Overview:

We are looking for a bright and motivated Senior Accountant to bring their skills and enthusiasm to our team Our company is growing and we are looking to expand our corporate department. The Senior Accountant has an important role and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's goals. The Senior Accountant will also work directly with the Executive Management team.


Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining financial records and ensuring financial transactions are properly recorded
  • Reconciling the company’s bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers
  • Preparing, pulling, and tracking the Dept of Labor drawdowns
  • Creating and maintaining budgets for all grants
  • Preparing Financial Statements
  • Works closely with the owner/program manager to ensure that all grant budgeting and spending meets DOL, GAAP, and audit guidelines.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills to address complex financial issues
  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making process as part of the senior management team.
  • Handle corporate and operational audits with DOL
  • Oversee payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws.
  • Manage HR related tasks such as recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws and internal policies
  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize projects by importance or deadlines
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources or similar field required
  • At least three (3) years of related experience in Accounting, Administrative or Human Resources.
  • At least two (2) year of leadership experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • QuickBooks and MS Suite Experience
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly detailed oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Experience:

  • CPA
  • Grant Accounting

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: $30-40 based on experience
