About the Role:
- In the capacity of Lead Financial Analyst at Dr. Squatch, you will play a pivotal role in establishing a comprehensive account reconciliation process. This position is essential for ensuring precise financial reporting and facilitating a successful year-end audit. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, this role demands a solid grasp of accounting principles, outstanding analytical capabilities, and the ability to operate both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- This is a full-time hybrid role with company benefits.
- The expected salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $120,000, commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market standards.
- Manage the reconciliation of high-volume and high-value accounts, including accrued sales tax, bank clearing accounts, accrued inventory purchases, and prepaids.
- Reconcile daily cash flow reports and monthly bank statements, and follow up on chargebacks and outstanding uncashed checks.
- Develop, document, and implement enhanced reconciliation procedures and policies to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the reconciliation process.
- Ensure compliance of all reconciliations with internal controls and external audit requirements, providing necessary documentation and explanations during audits.
- Prepare and post month-end journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, amortizations, and reclassifications, to guarantee accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare data and documents for sales tax and VAT filings, ensuring timely reconciliations of related accounts.
- Collaborate with various departments, such as Operations and Sales Teams, to provide data support and ensure accurate financial reporting aligned with business objectives.
- Support special projects and ad-hoc reporting as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- CPA certification or public accounting experience is advantageous.
- Proficiency in ERP accounting software (experience with NetSuite is a plus).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, v-lookup, complex formulas, and handling large datasets).
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Interest in health and wellness, personal care, and/or eCommerce sectors.
- Experience in the consumer products industry is highly preferred.
- A proactive individual who can achieve results with limited resources, demonstrating innovation and urgency.
- A collaborative team player who maintains a positive attitude and possesses a good sense of humor.
