Job Summary:

Sr. Engineering Architect Lead shall lead his/her teams to complete engineering projects by designing, developing, managing and controlling all elements of the project in Fremont office for the products, manufactured or will be manufactured, like control box ( eBox), busbar, wiring harnesses and related interconnect devices from the industry of Automotive.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Actively lead Design Engineers (ME/EE), Manufacturing Engineers and FAE work with key OEM customers on new NPI projects and review customer requirements based on mechanical/electrical functions, component compatibility and manufacturability.

  • Coordinate with customer engineering teams with internal supporting teams to provide competitive design concept and total solutions.
  • Support Process Industrial Engineer (PIE) at customer’s design of machined parts, die casting and sheet metal enclosures etc products with high performance and low cost recommendation. Review component and First Article qualification.
  • Instruct project directions from design stage to smooth ramp-up production, based on the project timeline.
  • Interact with PM, Sales, Inside Sales (CSR), Sourcer/Buyer, QE, PIE and Procurement groups to facilitate business execution, in order to reach the company's business objectives.
  • Provide technical instructions (SOP, SIP) to and review outputs from ME/EE/PIE and QE if necessary, coordinate technical training for teams.
  • Communicate and coordinate all engineering related subjects with Asia manufacturing facilities as well as any other manufacturing facilities to ensure quality products to be built.
  • Review Project Engineer(s) performance semi or annually. Involve in defining engineering related work procedure/processes and build up an engineering documentation system.
  • Handle any other tasks assigned by the reporting manager.
Requirements:
  • Experienced in Architecting and Manufacturing engineering in the automotive industry
  • Postgraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering is highly preferred
  • Compelling and clear communicator, able to represent your team to internal and external audiences with differing levels of technical fluency.
  • 5+ years automotive industry
  • Preferred design of mechanical engineering background/experience
  • Experienced on medium to large design projects
  • Fully experienced at E-CAD and M-CAD
  • Have prior experience managing complex, long-term projects that touch multiple teams and cross-functional stakeholders
