Position Overview:
ESG Consulting, Inc is looking for a Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer to architect and develop Linux operating system frameworks. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in traditional Linux/Unix settings and demonstrate robust automation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and oversee Linux environments
  • Manage Red Hat/Oracle Enterprise Linux and various Linux operating systems
  • Automate deployment and configuration processes
  • Assist in server provisioning within a virtualized infrastructure
  • Support installation and administration of WebLogic, Tomcat, and JBoss
  • Plan and execute Disaster Recovery strategies for Linux servers
  • Ensure compliance with change management and auditing standards
  • Configure services including Postfix, DNS, NTPD, SSH, LVM, etc.
  • Conduct quarterly server updates
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and system diagrams
  • Facilitate Unix/Linux backup processes using Commvault
  • Develop and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for change and configuration management
  • Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience in Linux system administration
  • Proficiency with automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
  • Experience in scripting/programming with languages like bash, Korn, Perl, or Python
  • Knowledge of VMware virtualization management
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, routing, and networking tools
  • Understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
