  • Establish, maintain, market, and sell CMU Products, Site & Pipe Products, Waterworks, Special Services, Equipment & Supplies, Equipment Rentals, Instrumentation, Landscape Products, and other products and services that Superior has available to sell.
  • Maintain and service assigned customers while also trying to generate new business by obtaining new customers in our core operating area. These customers would need approval of Sales Manager before official assignment or commissions would become available. Generate new business by building relationships with qualified contractors while maintaining a professional rapport with these customers.
  • Participate in product training with Product Managers and Vendors.
  • Become proficient at reading and interpreting project plans and specifications in order to become self-reliant in performing material quantity take-offs, preparing quotations on Eclipse, and preparing product submittal data to the end user.
  • A training schedule will be developed for you, but you will need to take the lead on self-training and schedule training with proper management on product lines, computer systems, and all Superior and branch policies, etc. after your normal training has ended. The initial training period will be 3-4 weeks and will include sessions with each product manager, estimators, dispatcher, and yard personnel. You will also spend time at the counters getting acquainted with Site Products, EQ&S and Rental items. Training will also include riding with existing Superior outside sales personnel and possibly attending training at Vendor locations.
  • Daily review of all assigned customer Sales Orders to check for pricing, product, and quantity accuracy to ensure profitability and verify that there will be no complications at the time of delivery. This task is inclusive of all orders, regardless of the order writer.
  • Work with Sales Manager and CMU Product Manager to develop and grow the sales, rentals and service capabilities for the accounts assigned.
  • You need to ensure we are pricing all Quotes and Job Bids accurately and within the allowed and desired GP’s.
  • Willing to work with all Division Managers to gain better industry knowledge, specific product knowledge, and understand their processes and capabilities.
  • Assist in the promoting of various specials or focused Superior sales efforts when asked.
  • Seek support as needed to ensure you obtain the products and systems knowledge to help you grow in product knowledge and Superior procedures.
  • Make every effort to grow overall sales in product lines while maintaining maximum Gross Profit.
  • Attend and participate in Trade Shows and Sales Meetings when asked with proper notice.
  • Observe all Safety policies and procedures for the company.
  • Observe all company Credit policies and procedures to ensure all required paperwork is properly completed by you and the customers and turned in prior to customer pick-up or delivery of products and of services.
  • All approvals from the Credit Department must be made prior to accepting any large job orders.
  • Maintain self-discipline out in the field by aggressively calling potential customers in all areas without the need for reminders.
  • Maintain accurate daily Call Reports and forward those Call Reports to the Sales Manager timely and on a weekly basis without fail.
  • Maintain the company owned vehicle per Company Policies.
  • Maintain efficiencies while using the company vehicle and fuel.
  • Company vehicles are to be used for company purposes only unless given permission otherwise. Incidental vehicle use is allowed however this should be a limited use.
  • Responsible for safeguarding all company products and equipment while in your possession.
  • Responsible for assigned Wireless phone and computer usage according to all company guidelines and policies.
  • Answer all phone calls, emails, job queues from management and co-worker requests for information in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all customers are responded to in an efficient, timely, professional and respectful manner.
  • Observe the company policies for employment and attendance reporting.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of Outside Sales experience
  • Working knowledge of MS Office/Outlook
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Outstanding organizational skills
