SUMMARY

The Demand Planner position is a key contributor to actively pushing forward our Supply Chain vision, aligning to S&OP best practices and understanding how to leverage our Netsuite MRP best.  The position will report directly to the Director of Supply Chain and will work a hybrid in-office/remote schedule.


The Demand Planner is responsible for managing the forecast planning using historical sales, new and lost distribution changes, customer inventory levels, and input on future promotional activities.  This role requires cross-functional collaboration and is high touch in aligning with our analytics and KPI’s, which will enable us to meet the company plan.  

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Support and drive demand planning in the S&OP process.
  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts and review to incorporate shifts due to marketing, promotion or new product distribution and placement.
  • Conduct monthly forecast maintenance, including reviewing historical trends, researching demand drivers, preparing forecast data, and evaluating forecast results.
  • Publish reports of actual tracking and reporting of KPI’s, and communicate changes in sales forecasts, budgets and business strategies. 
  • Forecasts for projects and new product introduction initiatives. 
  • Challenges the sales forecasts especially if they differ from previous promotions with the same mechanics/distribution or new distribution based on historical item movements.
  • Review major customers’ inventory levels to determine the impact on sales/demand.
  • Contribute to the future development of Marketing, Sales and Operations Planning process.
  • Drive the monthly pre-consensus and consensus review meetings with recommended changes to the forecast.
  • Use demand planning methodology and trend/variance root cause analysis to implement demand planning corrective actions and improvements.
  • Work with Inventory Specialists to determine optimal inventory levels based on sales trends.
  • Complete post-promotional analysis as needed.
  • Participate in special projects providing input on cross-functional teams.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Requires a minimum of High School Diploma or GED Equivalent; Business AS or BS degree or other related field preferred.
  • Understanding and knowledge of demand and supply chain management, market trends, and inventory management; prefer food industry.
  • Working knowledge of Data management and system reporting; consumer marketing and Supply Chain operations.
  • Superior proficiency with demand planning tools, a strong understanding of statistical models and forecasting parameters.
  • Experience with ERP systems, Oracle/Netsuite a plus.
  • Experience as a contributor in the S&OP Process a plus.
  • Experience in handling multiple priorities and ability to prioritize and work independently.
  • Advanced Excel skillset and focus on detail with accuracy in numbers and calculations.
  • Ability to work independently.
