Position Summary

The Engagement Coordinator supports the work of Blue Water Baltimore as it relates to outreach, engagement, and educational efforts and events. As part of the Engagement Team, the Engagement Coordinator will work closely with the Restoration Team to provide support for community outreach, education, volunteer engagement and retention, and support the team in the field. The Engagement Coordinator is responsible for supporting the consistent delivery of BWB’s educational programming and advocacy messaging to Baltimore City and County residents, students, stakeholders, and the wider community. This position will end on December 15th, 2024.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead and support community outreach efforts during project planning, including attending community meetings and door knocking campaigns
  • Deliver educational programming
  • Collect and enter event and engagement data in Salesforce
  • Support tabling and engagement efforts at Blue Water Baltimore events
  • Document events with photography, video, quotes, and stories
  • Maintain and organize program supplies
  • Prepare outreach materials to promote volunteer and advocacy events
  • Collaborate with volunteer coordinator to conduct volunteer trainings and support volunteer engagement
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Experience (paid or volunteer) in one or more of the following: community outreach, education, advocacy, organizing, tree planting, landscaping or green stormwater infrastructure
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to be trained in delivering educational programs about the effects of stormwater pollution, tree planting, and tree maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Passion for engagement and education
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or willingness to learn
  • Familiarity with Wordpress or willingness to learn
