The Groundskeeper/Landscaper at Vertical Solutions fills their days with plenty of cultivation and care of two SLC locations, with incredibly fun opportunities for creativity and design for various other projects.


PRIMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS//

  • Load and unload materials
  • General Landscaping (pull weeds, trim bushes/trees, clean up debris etc.)
  • Concrete cutting and removal
  • Handle tools of various types
  • Reads plans and plans to make sure the diagrams meet specifications
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), general directions, quality-control programs and safety requirements for all production operations
  • Operation of heavy equipment to include (excavator, skid steer, etc.)
  • Keep a clean, organized working environment and assist in maintaining machinery and tools
  • Rough carpentry, painting, epoxy coating, welding, & steel fabrication depending on experience
  • Work closely with team members to manage each project, ensuring deadlines are met
    • Comply with all safety guidelines
  • Basic plumbing/Irrigation understanding
  • Interior demolition- Sweep, clean up job site, run errands, use hammer and saw, demolition, etc.)
  • Additional duties may be assigned in various functions of Vertical Solutions

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS//

  • Minimum of 2+ years of landscaping/maintenance experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot
  • General maintenance skills such as winterizing building, electrical skills, some plumbing experience for maintenance of water feature, etc.
  • Specialization in irrigation
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work early mornings
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects of at least 100 lbs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS//

  • Frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; or hear
  • Frequently lift and/ or move more than 50 pounds
  • Frequently in hot weather, operating in the heat and sun during the summer months
  • Position requires the use of hand tools and power tools;
  • May be required to work on the roof top, ladders and areas of great heights
  • Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud
  • PPE may be required for this position 
  • Minimum one year of on-the-job construction training
  • Ability to use and read measuring tape
  • Rough carpentry a bonus
  • Possess physical strength to operate heavy and power-driven equipment
  • Communicate progress and arising problems with team leaders/project foreman
  • Ability to complete repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and production standards
  • Wear company provided safety equipment IE (harness, hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses)
  • Reliable, shows up to shift on time each day
  • Proactive, self-starter, positive attitude
  • Well-developed time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work and participate effectively in a team environment
  • Valid driver license
  • OSHA 10 or 30 preferred
  • Welding certification is a bonus
