Cloud Developer (Hybrid)

Selected candidate must reside within two (2) hours of SSA Headquarters in Woodlawn, MD. Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site at least 2 days a week.

Key Required Skills:

Experience with Cloud, and Kendra

Position Description

Collaborate with the team to design and implement the AWS Kendra prototype.

Develop and deploy serverless applications using AWS services.

Evaluate the prototype's performance and provide recommendations for improvement.

Assist in integrating the prototype with Agency systems.

Document the development process and provide regular updates to the team.

Work with SSA leadership at all levels and present relevant information.

All other duties as assigned or directed.

Skills Requirements:

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS (Basic Qualifications)

Bachelor degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Computer and Information Science, Engineering and Business

Minimum 8 Year (s) of Experience

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

Extensive experience with AWS serverless stack (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc.).

Strong developer background with proficiency in Java, Python, or similar languages.

Cloud-savvy with a deep understanding of AWS infrastructure and services.

Experience with AWS Kendra is a plus, but not mandatory.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.

Excellent analytical skills to identify potential risks and propose effective solutions.

FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE (Required Skills)

These skills will help you succeed in this position:

AWS Certified (Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps Administrator)

Prior experience with AWS Kendra.

Displaying ability to research and analyze technical matters.

Demonstrating ability to contribute to a positive working environment by building relationships with team members; proactively seeking guidance, clarification, and feedback.

Managing teams comprised of technical, data science, and business specialists.

HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)

Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:

Master Degree, Advanced Degree in Computer Science, other quantitative discipline.

Certification in Cloud or related fields is a plus.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Computer and Information Science, Engineering and Business with 12+ years of experience.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement
