About the Role

BDR Solutions is seeking an experienced Healthcare Integration Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our integration team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing end-to-end data pipelines that seamlessly move data within a multi-faceted solution, with an emphasis on healthcare data, particularly FHIR and HL7 standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Pipeline Design and Development: Design, develop, and manage end-to-end data pipelines, ensuring efficient and secure data flow between systems. Focus on the integration of healthcare data, including FHIR and HL7 standards.
  • Integration and Interoperability: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate various data sources and systems, ensuring seamless interoperability between different healthcare applications and platforms.
  • Cloud Deployment and Management: Utilize cloud platforms, including GCP and AWS GovCloud, to deploy, manage, and scale integration solutions. Ensure that all deployments meet security, compliance, and performance standards, particularly in government cloud environments.
  • Technical Guidance and Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, helping them understand the complexities of healthcare data integration and cloud deployments.
  • Requirements Gathering and Solution Design: Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement data integration strategies that align with business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure that all data integrations comply with relevant healthcare standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7) and maintain data integrity, privacy, and security throughout the pipeline.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines and integration processes, identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure timely and accurate data flow.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data integration processes, configurations, and workflows. Provide regular updates and reports on project status, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in data integration or software engineering, with a focus on orchestrating data pipelines and system integration. Experience in healthcare IT and familiarity with FHIR and HL7 standards is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Apache Nifi is required. Strong background in cloud environments, particularly GCP and AWS GovCloud, with experience in deploying and managing data integration solutions. Proficiency in programming languages and tools commonly used in data integration (e.g., Python, Java, Apache Camel, SQL, REST APIs, UNIX commands, Apache NiFi).
  • Clearance: Active Secret clearance preferred, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Healthcare, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
