If you’re a leader who thrives on solving challenging problems and driving cloud innovation, then our client has the perfect role for you. We’re searching for a Director of Cloud Infrastructure (aka The Cloud Navigator) to lead our cloud strategy and infrastructure efforts.

Imagine being at the forefront of cloud technology at a company where your expertise shapes the backbone of our digital products and services. As the Director of Cloud Infrastructure at our client, you’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring that it supports our current and future needs. This role isn’t just about managing servers—it’s about leading a team to create a resilient, scalable, and cost-effective cloud environment that drives our business forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cloud Strategy Leader:
  • Define and implement a comprehensive cloud infrastructure strategy that aligns with our company’s goals. You’ll create a roadmap that ensures our cloud infrastructure is secure, scalable, and optimized for performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of cloud engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. You’ll ensure that your team has the tools, skills, and support they need to deliver robust cloud solutions.
  • Infrastructure Design and Implementation:
    • Oversee the design, deployment, and management of cloud infrastructure, ensuring that it is resilient, secure, and able to handle current and future workloads. You’ll work with various cloud providers (such as AWS, Azure, GCP) to build and maintain the infrastructure that powers our applications.
  • Cost Management and Optimization:
    • Manage cloud infrastructure costs, ensuring that we’re getting the most value for our investment. You’ll implement strategies to optimize cloud spending, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Ensure that all cloud infrastructure meets the highest standards of security and compliance. You’ll implement best practices in cloud security, data protection, and regulatory compliance, ensuring that our cloud environment is safe and trustworthy.
  • Process Improvement and Automation:
    • Identify opportunities to improve cloud operations through automation and process optimization. You’ll introduce tools and practices that streamline infrastructure management, reduce manual effort, and increase reliability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with development, product management, and other departments to ensure that cloud infrastructure aligns with the company’s overall objectives. You’ll be the bridge between cloud operations and the rest of the organization, ensuring that everyone is aligned.

Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Cloud Expertise: Extensive experience in cloud infrastructure management, including deep knowledge of cloud providers like AWS, Azure, and GCP. You’re proficient in designing, deploying, and managing scalable cloud environments.
  • Leadership Excellence: Proven experience leading and mentoring cloud engineering teams, with a track record of delivering secure, reliable, and cost-effective cloud solutions. You’re the kind of leader who can inspire and guide a team to achieve their best work.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and implement a cloud strategy that aligns with business goals and anticipates future needs. You’re always thinking ahead, ensuring that our cloud infrastructure is future-proof and scalable.
  • Security and Compliance Expertise: Strong background in cloud security and compliance, with experience implementing best practices and ensuring adherence to regulations like GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2.
  • Cost Optimization Skills: Experience in managing and optimizing cloud costs, with a focus on balancing performance, reliability, and budget. You know how to get the most value out of cloud investments.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You make the intricate understandable, ensuring that everyone is on the same page.
  • Humor: A great sense of humor, because we believe in fostering a work environment that is both productive and enjoyable. If you can keep the team smiling while tackling complex cloud challenges, you’re our kind of leader.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience with a proven track record in cloud infrastructure leadership is also valued.
  • Certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus. If you’ve contributed to cloud-related open-source projects or published papers, that’s a bonus.

Experience Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT or cloud infrastructure, with at least 5 years in a leadership role such as Cloud Infrastructure Manager, Lead Cloud Engineer, or similar. You’ve successfully led teams that have built and managed scalable cloud environments.
  • Proven experience in designing and deploying cloud architectures that support high-availability, disaster recovery, and scalability in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible, and a solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines in cloud environments.

Benefits

  • Health and Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans with low co-pays and premiums.
