Systems Technology & Research, Inc., is seeking a Lead Computer Software Engineer to support the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command - Ground Vehicle Systems Center engineering group located in Warren, MI. As an experienced Software Engineer, you will work alongside our U.S. Army Software Engineering Center customer, applying your knowledge and skills by providing technical engineering services that support Ground Vehicles and the emerging technologies. This position is a combination in-office and telework position based on needs of the customer (hybrid 2-3 days a week in office).


Job Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Provide engineering skillset in development or reviewing of formal software requirements to meet the needs of the project and customer.
  • Provide technical feedback in design development and software design documentation.
  • Perform unit/module/integration/acceptance testing to ensure the software meets the requirements.
  • Interface with systems and software development engineers as well as customer.
  • Perform tasks independently based on initial guidance.
  • Small team leadership skills, providing instruction/direction, monitoring progress, managing cohesive and collaborative environments.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or software engineering with 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience using software version control and issue tracking systems such as git, Atlassian bitbucket/Stash or Subversion.
  • One or more object-oriented programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, C++, Python, Java or Perl.
  • One or more modern web development technologies such as Web Components, Polymer, Angular, React or Vue.js (i.e. HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • XML and XML technologies such as XSLT and XPath.
  • Ada programming experience in addition to Ada compliers
  • Experience with VxWorks
  • Experience with CASE tools legacy and modern based
  • Experience working in environments that apply an engineering approach to software following standard software processes.
  • Experience in software development using software version control and issue tracking systems.
  • Must be a US Citizen and have/able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
