We are looking for a Utility Locator to service the Bay Area. The ideal candidate is a team player who can also work independently, is self-motivated and is an early bird that enjoys working 6 am – 3 pm with opportunities for overtime. We think you will love it here

Cool Stuff you get to do:

  • Underground utility detection/location using Radio Frequency (passive and active) and Ground Penetrating Radar methods, including accurately interpreting utility readings.
  • Accurately identify and mark utility location for excavation and mapping purposes.
  • Read and interpret Utility plans.
  • Coordinate with supervisor, engineering, survey staff, and utility agencies.
  • Communicate with clients and contractors.

What will help you be successful:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • OSHA 10 Certification and current CPR certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of related utility locating experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel, AutoCAD, Adobe, Blue Beam, etc.
  • Valid CA driver's license and satisfactory driving record
  • Experience working in or with:
    1. heavy traffic conditions.
    2. APWA uniform color code markings.
    3. GPR, including utility reading and scanning for reinforcement/utilities in concrete pads and walls.
  • Knowledge of California Government Code Sec. 4216 and CGA Best Practices and Confined Space Entry (Title 8 of CCR Article 108 Sections 5156 and 5158 or ability)
  • Willing to travel out of town and overnight if needed.
