Your Role

In this position, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive biological support across various projects while managing field operations for multi-disciplinary programs. You will collaborate closely with Senior Biologists and junior staff, ensuring effective communication with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

As the Environmental Biologist, Field Operations Lead, your primary duties will include:
  • Conducting thorough biological field surveys and monitoring for both public and private utility projects.
  • Ensuring quality control and maintaining high safety standards for biological reports produced by junior staff and subcontractors.
  • Overseeing environmental permitting processes and coordinating logistics for field surveys across diverse locations.
  • Supporting project management teams with financial oversight and resource allocation for dynamic projects.
  • Utilizing your knowledge of California's flora and fauna to inform project execution and compliance with environmental regulations.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in biological and permitting work, particularly with California IOUs or equivalent.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage large datasets.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on client relations.
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
