Facility Maintenance

Job Overview

We are seeking a diligent and skilled Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and efficient operation of our facility's infrastructure and grounds, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other systems. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong attention to detail and the ability to perform both preventive and reactive maintenance tasks in a safe and efficient way.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the general cleanliness and maintenance of all our warehouse and office facilities, including minor repairs and touch-ups as assigned and prioritized by supervisor.
  • Perform general facility cleaning and maintenance, including painting, carpentry, and minor construction tasks.
  • Perform regular inspections and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems as assigned.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and waste removal. Ensure all areas of the facility are clean and presentable.
  • Respond to spills, leaks, and other urgent cleaning needs promptly and effectively.
  • Must work in a safe manner and comply with all health, safety, security and emergency requirements. Assess workplace safety and coordinate with the management team to recognize and remedy potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and any/all established processes, whether established by their manager, by the company or by law. Works with the management team to resolve any known conditions potentially affecting food safety or product quality.
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, maintenance tasks, and supply inventory. Prepare reports as required.
  • Communicate regularly with team regarding work accomplished.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years minimum facility maintenance experience, preferably in a food or beverage manufacturing facility or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, woodworking, and HVAC systems. Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
  • Proficient in the use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Understanding of food safety, workplace safety, and food quality standards is strongly preferred.
  • Prior exposure or certifications in GMP and HACCP application. Familiarity with SQF policies a bonus.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Self-directed, personally motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team player, able to work well with others and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Excellent attendance and performance track record.
  • Heightened awareness of safety precautions and hazards for self and others

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods on concrete floors.
  • Continuous physical activity, including walking, stooping, bending, reaching, and crouching.
