Troy Design and Manufacturing is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company. At TDM, we use 21st Century manufacturing processes such as 3D design and printing, laser cutting, and automation for prototype and low volume manufacturing of components of current and future Ford vehicles. At our Chicago modification center facility, we do state of the art vehicle modifications for multiple police interceptor platforms.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead design, development, and release of various components meeting vehicle targets and requirements.
  • Plan and coordinate required component testing to confirm performance and durability.
  • Evaluate/develop supplier parts to ensure product meets design targets.
  • Liaison to manufacturing, service and vendors to implement designs that are cost effective and manufacturing feasible.
  • Basic program management to coordinate supplier and internal development to meet vehicle project timing.
  • Prepare financial 2-pager documents for any new or updated PI commodities
  • Support FMEA, DVP&R, interface to Release Engineer
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM REQUIRED:

  • B.S. degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical or Product Design Engineering, or related
  • 4 years of automotive experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

PREFERRED:

  • Product Development Engineering experience
  • ViMockup/Digital Buck tool set
