Job Description

Within the Vehicle Motion Division, we design and develop state-of-the art safety and motion solutions for passenger cars, light trucks, and up to medium heavy truck. Vehicle Motion provides solutions for mobility through steering, braking, occupant safety, and vehicle dynamic sensors.  Vehicle Motion is also a leader in the software and services that will support the future of Software Defined Vehicles.

The Product Cost Manager (PCM) will lead product cost tracking within Vehicle Motion Division in North America across our Steering Product Organization; enabled by product knowledge and strong finance acumen to support customer accounts ensure profitability.

Scope & Responsibilities

  • Lead product cost tracking within Vehicle Motion Division across Steering Product Organization in North America.
  • Analyze product material cost targets from project acquisition thru pre-SOP per Product Engineering Process (incl. Customer Project Evaluations updates and re-quotes).
  • Perform cost gap analysis, challenging data inputs, and propose measures to customer manager(s).
  • Construct and maintain a comprehensive overview of potential measures per customer project.
  • Support workshops within Cross Functional Teams (i.e. Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing) to enable maintenance of cost tracking opportunities.
  • Support evaluation of cost measures via plausibility check of business case calculations.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional work experience in automotive industry (e.g. purchasing, cost analyst, product management or similar role)
  • 2+ years of strong analytical reporting and proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Self-driven, high energy and proactive with strong analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail, on-time delivery and excellent first-pass yield.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple tasks on time.
  • Sound product background to support product cost reviews w/in Cross Functional Teams.
  • Business management knowledge (marketing, sales, controlling, cost-benefit calculation) & visualization of features and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Passionate continuous improvement mindset.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • German and/or Spanish language skills desirable.
