**THE POSITION**

We are in search of a proficient Project Engineer to enhance technology and quality systems within tire and tire component manufacturing. Your key role will involve overseeing the deployment of new technologies and quality systems to elevate output and quality. This encompasses refining existing manufacturing processes and industrializing new methods, machinery, and measurement systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, enabling effective transmission of technical information across all organizational levels.

**Key Responsibilities:**

**Project Coordination:**

  • Identify opportunities for improvement in tire/component production and material handling.
  • Develop and present concepts, including feasibility and cost/benefit analysis.
  • Lead machinery projects, encompassing requirement documentation, design, supplier discussions, FMEA, and release criteria.
  • Industrialize new processes, machinery, and machine components.
  • Conduct process evaluations, including scrap rates, process capability studies (CPK), and time studies.
  • Ensure comprehensive implementation, including work instructions, operator training, preventive maintenance, and quality monitoring.
  • Lead a project-based team comprising internal colleagues and external vendors.

**Industrialization:**

  • Industrialize new products, materials, components, processes, and machinery.
  • Manage modifications to machine recipes.
  • Support and assess R&D trials, including generating trial reports.
  • Manage complexity within projects.

**Quality Tracking & Improvement (Existing Processes):**

  • Analyze, report, and enhance scrap in the production of materials, components, and tires.
  • Conduct troubleshooting in serial production manufacturing.
  • Apply problem-solving techniques such as root cause analysis, lessons learned documentation, and FMEA.
  • Initiate, track, and conclude trial reports.
  • Conduct process capability studies.

**Additional Responsibilities:**

  • Maintain a problem log and make appropriate entries.
  • Revise procedures as necessary.
  • Conduct meetings such as scrap reviews, employee evaluations, and toolboxes.

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field pertinent to project management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 10% of the time annually, with limited international travel as required.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

  • Familiarity with systematic development, from requirement documentation to release criteria.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with team leadership and/or project development.
  • One or more years of experience in tire building.
  • Basic knowledge of tire design and/or tire building processes.
  • Familiarity with tire building machinery or manufacturing processes related to tire building.
