Job Title: IT Manager

Employment: Part-Time

Pay Range: $24.13 - $31.64 / hour

Reports To: Operations Director

Work Hours: Part-Time; 20 hours/week

SUMMARY

As an Information Technology Manager, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to harness technology to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young students. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our IT systems run smoothly and efficiently while reducing the risk to data security. You will manage and maintain the network and server infrastructure. Ensure the technology systems are reliable, up to date, secure and meet the needs of RBBB. You will direct strategic planning, collaborating with RBBB stakeholders to determine IT plans and technology to invest in. You will set and monitor departmental goals to ensure the achievement of RBBB goals. The work done by the IT Manager keeps the IT team and RBBB moving forward.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all computer-IT related activities. Maintain consistent communications with executives, department leaders, and end-users about IT activities.
  • Assist Read Better Be Better executive staff with project-based work relating to core Read Better Be Better business functions, primarily those system-driven.
  • Support executive staff in troubleshooting and optimizing the organization's CRM software Salesforce.
  • Provide IT training, support, and solutions related to computer systems, hardware and RBBB staff and board.
  • Secure RBBB computer systems and electronic data.
  • Oversee development and implementation of customized systems, and oversee all computer related activities.
  • Manage the network and server infrastructure for RBBB.
  • Address issues that have been escalated. Identify problems and design and implement solutions.
  • Present IT progress to RBBB board and stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies to meet business needs.
  • Ensure staff adherence to audit and compliance policies and risk mitigation for security.
  • Manage technical resources and vendor management.
  • Administer user access to RBBB systems.
  • Act as liaison to external, professional service providers.
  • Maintain staff and board portal content through Office SharePoint.
  • Lead application buildouts, e.g., build online portals and digital forms
  • Develop and maintain IT security and safety guidelines.
  • Support website function (code to make it work).
  • Responsible for Front-End knowledge of organization's technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) so that back end and front-end work together seamlessly.
  • Act as back up for essential IT Support Specialist duties, in the event the primary designated person is absent:
  • Setup, maintain and train new employees on computer equipment such as tablets/Chromebooks/Mac to record student information and records such as attendance.
  • Conduct onboarding and offboarding IT steps for new employee setups and departures, e.g., creating user accounts.
  • Oversee Office 365 software and integration to optimize key features
  • Maintain and update organization's IT manual.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

  • A strong foundation in technical knowledge, including understanding maintenance of network infrastructure, database management, hardware and software systems, strong cybersecurity practices, and ensuring systems are reliable, secure and scalable to meet current and future needs
  • Effective communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to communicate technical details to non-technical users

  • Proficiency in various software including but not limited to Office 365 suite, Salesforce, and computer administration
  • Proficiency in various hardware including but not limited to Apple and PC devices

  • Proven understanding of Information security practices
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Experience with change and project management best practices and strategies
  • Ability to organize and manage large amounts of tasks, materials and information
  • Able to prioritize and efficiently manage time
  • Ability to work independently, but also with direction and cross departmentally

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 Years of directly related professional experience
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid IVP fingerprint clearance card

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Information Technology or a directly related field and (5) five years of directly related professional experience in managing organizational infrastructure; OR
  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution in Information Technology or a directly related field and (7) seven years of directly related professional experience in managing organizational infrastructure.
  • 2 years of desktop support experience within an IT department
  • Experience troubleshooting issues with PC and Apple computers
  • Experience in data security processes and procedures to mitigate risk
  • Familiarity with WordPress

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This is an in-person position, operating in a professional office environment. Potential for hybrid schedule with work-from-home and remote days, at the approval and discretion of the supervisor.
  • The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to be stationary for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to move physical materials up to 60 lbs.
