Job Summary:

The Center Director will provide direction, management, and supervision of the Job Corps campus and all related activities.  Assumes responsibilities for planning, organizing, administering, and controlling programs and activities necessary to meet the goals and objectives established for the effective management of Job Corps operations.  Provides direction, management, and supervision of the Job Corps campus and all related activities.  Assumes responsibilities for planning, organizing, administering, and controlling programs and activities necessary to meet the goals and objectives established for the effective management of Job Corps operations. 

Duties:

  • Develops and implements strategies to achieve and maintain contracted design capacity (On-Board Strength) through collaboration with OA contractors in National Enrollee Assignment Plan (NEAP).
  • Establishes and maintains a relationship with community leaders and social, religious, civic, and service organizations.  Develops and maintains linkages with local and distant employers to assist in evaluating career technical offerings, compiling labor market information, and promoting work-based learning and job placement of program participants.
  • Develops and implements systems, programs, and strategies to assist students achieve their career goals as determined by progress recorded on the Center Report Card (OMS-10).
  • Delegates responsibilities for effective operations through directors, managers, and supervisors in all areas.
  • Ensures the safety, health, and security of students, staff, and property.
  • Develops and implements operating budgets and ensures the center operates within established budgets.
  • Ensures all training and testing programs are continually evaluated to ensure rigor and relevance of content areas is aligned with the PRH and meets individual needs of students.
  • Establishes and implements procedures to ensure all students receive personalized career development services leading to graduation, long-term employment, and sustainable wages in a career for which the student was trained.  
  • Ensures coordination of pre-separation contact between students and CTS and provides pre-separation transitional support needs to ensure graduates remain successfully attached to the workforce.
  • Establishes procedures and conducts periodic self-evaluation and audits to ensure integrity, accountability, and prevention of fraud and program abuse. 
  • Establishes and implements systems to ensure performance is accurately tracked and reported and necessary corrective action is taken to achieve the performance outcome goals and quality standards established by the National Director of Job Corps.
  • Promotes training and professional development through the development and implementation of an annual staff training plan.
  • Conducts and documents regularly scheduled management meetings to provide direction, communicate progress, and share information.
  • Conducts and documents regularly scheduled meetings with student government officers and subcontracted health professionals, as required by the PRH.
  • Models, mentors, and monitors appropriate career success skills.
  • Develops and implements CDSS plan and other required plans and procedures as required by the PRH.
  • Performs other duties as assigned within the individual’s scope and capabilities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five years’ experience in program management and direction required. Graduate degree in education, business, or public administration preferred.
  • Experience working with youth required; previous Job Corps experience preferred. 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal, communicative, and engaging skills and abilities.
  • Able to coordinate and collaborate with a diverse community and population.
  • Computer, telecommunications, and virtual technology skills.
  • A valid driver’s license in the state of assignment with no major moving citations within the last 39 months.
  • Undergo a background investigation and drug screen with favorable results.
